Asphalts: Environmental Analysis
PRI provides support for possible environmental impacts of asphalts, bitumen and related products.

Selected protocols may be used to evaluate the susceptibility of materials and products to leaching certain components.Coupled with PRI’s accelerated and real time weathering services, potential leachate detection, analysis and assessments are available. This is particularly beneficial in the evaluation and qualification of new additives, modifiers, extenders and other performance enhancing ingredients that are candidates for possible use in the asphalt markets.

With PRI's Accelerated Paving Weathering System materials, products and their degradation products, may be evaluated over a projected life cycle for leaching susceptibility under simulated environmental climates .

PRI prides itself in offering the latest accredited testing protocols for assessment of sustainability and achieving Green Construction goals and objectives. Environmental services also include analysis for: RCRA metals (TLCP), Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s), Acids/Neutral/Bases, Chlorides, Hydrogen Sulfide, pH, Corrosion potential (NACE test methods), polynuclear aromatic compounds, polychlorinated biphenyls, Semi-volatile and Volatile compounds.
