Asphalt Binders: Conventional Properties
PRI offers complete in-house individual property testing, evaluation and product certifications for pre SuperpaveTM testing protocols.

Typically, the conventional properties and specifications are based on Penetration and Viscosity Graded Bitumens. The testing protocols and specifications have been in use for well over 50 years and are currently used throughout the world. Often the test methods and specifications have been modified to meet specific needs of the controlling agency or geographical area.

In this category PRI includes the European Specifications (EN),  the British Standards (BS), the Russian Standards (GOST) and  many of the South and Central American countries as well as those in the Caribbean, Africa, the MENA (Middle Eastern countries), China, and India.  

Many of these are empirical in nature but identify in asphalts characteristics and performance through years of correlation to use. Tests may be selected individually or grouped to provide the desired characterization.
