Air Blowing (Oxidation) PRI Air Blowing; PRI provides complete laboratory scale air blowing (oxidation), ith stills from 1-10 gals in capacity. Process variables cover a wide range: temperature and air rate controls, inert blanketing, mass losses and condensate recovery. The products from air blowing may be evaluated or used as a raw material in to evaluate blending, polymer modification or value added processing. PRI's laboratory oxidations compare very favorable with full sized still results.

Evaluation and Characterization of Additives and Modifiers PRI Additives and Modifiers ; PRI can evaluate, assess, and characterize additives and modifiers, expanding to the basic tenants outlined in AASHTO R 15; Practice for Asphalt Additives and Modifiers. We maintain an inventory of asphalts, binders, and aggregates to be used in the additive and modifier projects to ensure continuity. Often successful evaluation projects result in intellectual property via patents for our clients.

Pilot Mill Emulsions PRI Pilot Mill; Our pilot (laboratory scale) high shear emulsion mill provides the ability to assess chemical, clay stablized and / or modified emulsions using binary or tertiary feeds. Raw materials (asphalts, emulsifiers, soap solutions, clay slurries, additives, and modifers) and prototype finished products can be assessed using the pilot mill.

Polymer Blending PRI Polymer Blending; A variety of high and low shear blending and / or mixing is available as well as a full range of process variables. Blending can be done in batch type high and low shear mills as well as single or multiple pass small schale laboratory continous mills.

Product Development / Improvement PRI Development / Improvement; PRI's professional staff provides a wealth of experience to design and manage projects involving asphalt from crude oil refining to final pavement proformance. Our technical staff and our comprehensive in house testing capabilities provide a cost effective and efficient way to develop or improve products.
